The Lloyd Shaw Foundation
This website contains a wealth of information about music and dances that can be used by teachers and other leader’s who are looking for historical music and historical dances. The site honors Dr. Lloyd Shaw who was a very innovative Superintendent of Cheyenne Mountain School District in Colorado Springs, Colorado during the first half of the 20th century. Pappy Shaw was also credited with being very influential in the rebirth of Square Dancing in the late 1930’s and 1940’s.
The site has an extensive library of Children’s Dances, Square Dances, Contra Dances, Community Dances, Folk Dances, and Rounds Dances. Cue sheets are available and free. The site also has an extensive library of recorded music that can be purchased as MP3 files. The cost per recording is $.75.
